Research, design, and rapidly prototype a unique Biometric Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) solution, leveraging Imageware's core strengths in biometrics to create distinct B2B, B2C, and ecosystem product models and user journeys.
Situation & Tasks:
With the rising demand for individual control over personal digital identity, Imageware looked to design and test a future-facing identity platform leveraging self-contained, shareable biometric identities. With such a solution, Imageware could better position itself for partnerships, mergers, and customer adoption of its biometric technology. The challenge Imageware faced was in the design and rapid prototyping of such a solution to address enterprise use cases and an to generate an ecosystem for biometric credentials.
Actions:
Market Analysis: Executed comprehensive market research on decentralized credentials, delivering insightful reports on prevalent products, competitors, and market strategies.
Strategic Opportunity Identification: Determined market gaps and established strategic directions by identifying core users, potential customers, and the most pressing use cases.
Feature Roadmap Development: Assembled a prioritized feature list, delineating stages from prototype release to a full-fledged web3.0 platform for biometric identities.
Partnership Establishment: Forged valuable partnerships with industry frontrunners across biometric, digital identity, and web3.0 sectors, enhancing Imageware’s product value and market positioning.
Product Design and Iteration: Kicked off with low-fidelity wireframes, progressing to refined high-fidelity prototypes. Regularly adjusted designs based on user feedback and executive evaluations.
Pricing and Launch Strategy: Conceived a tailored pricing model alongside a GTM funnel, paving the way for initial sales opportunities and efficient product promotion.
Futures-Oriented Strategy Design: Adopted strategic foresight methodologies, yielding dynamic development timelines poised to anticipate and meet evolving market needs.
Intellectual Property Protection: Proposed 10+ patents to Imageware, bolstering their competitive edge and stake in this emergent market.
Results:
Imageware’s Biometric SSI solution enabled it to establish new partnerships with system integrators, establish relationships with acquisition partners, and ultimately act as a key aspect of it’s acqisition discussions with multiple enterprises ultimately leading to its acquisition by Tech5, a digital identity and biometric component provider. The self-service digital credential platform and the intellectual property associated became the basis of the Tech5 digital credential portfolio which includes identity verification, credential issuance, and biometric credential sharing.
