Objectives:
Identify core user experiences and areas for improvement in previous Authenticate 1.0 product design & strategy. Research use cases, design user-flows & web/mobile app, & build development roadmap for Authenticate 2.0, an enhanced digital identity platform with biometric Single Sign-On (SSO) leveraging the T5 Cryptograph, a proprietary identity image.
Situation & Tasks:
As digital security concerns and the demand for efficient verification systems grew, Tech5 sought to build a SaaS product portfolio leveraging their knowledge of biometric security & algorithms. After acquiring biometric SaaS platform provider, Imageware, Tech5 aimed to revitalize Imageware’s Authenticate product for modern users, relaunching as Authenticate 2.0. The challenge was to craft the strategy and roadmap for an intuitive biometric web and mobile platform that combined robust digital identity features with biometric SSO, ensuring both user convenience and unparalleled security.
Actions:
Led market, user, and product research to define high-impact feature sets. Designed updated user-journeys & prototype to faciltiate testing & development. product design, rapid prototyping, and engineered of the platform, custom AI tools, & API layer. Delivered all requirements including:
Conducted an in-depth analysis of Authenticate 1.0, identifying areas of user friction and opportunities for enhancement.
Facilitated user-research sessions and feedback loops to fully comprehend the requirements of modern users in the realm of biometric security.
Leveraged insights from the acquired expertise of Imageware staff, iterating upon their foundational design and strategy for a holistic revamp.
Collaboratively designed user-centric flows and interfaces for both web and mobile versions of Authenticate 2.0, ensuring intuitive interactions and efficient pathways.
Integrated the unique T5 Cryptograph, Tech5's proprietary identity image, into the platform, marrying it with biometric Single Sign-On (SSO) for a layered, robust security experience enabling future digital identity capabilities and integrations.
Formulated an iterative development roadmap for Tech5’s short-staffed development team, clearly laying out phased milestones and sprint goals for v2.0 through v2.6 including two new-feature integration MVPs, ensuring the project remains viable, on track, and aligned with the overarching strategy regardless of development timeline.
Results:
Successfully strategized and laid the foundation for Authenticate 2.0, transitioning from the legacy of Authenticate 1.0. The new design and strategy focused on user-centricity, resulting in a digital identity platform that's not only modern and intuitive but also backed by the strength of Tech5’s proprietary biometric technology.
